Invitation to Harvard China Night 2013

The China Society student group at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government cordially invites you to Harvard China Night 2013 on Friday, November 1st. This year, we will have an stimulating and intellectual dialogue featuring Professor John Quelch, Professor Gao Jian, Dr. Yujun Zhang and senior Chinese officials. Food and drinks will be served during the reception. We have also prepared traditional Chinese art performances for an evening of learning and fun.


You will have the opportunity to network with students, scholars, business leaders and policy makers from the Greater Boston Area.

Our theme is "China’s Next Ten Years: Business as (Un)usual". We have already confirmed the following speakers:

   Dr. Gao Jian - Executive Vice Governor of China Development Bank (CDB). Dr. Gao is recognized as the founder of China's government securities due to his pioneering works in government bond market reform in the 1990s, and for which he has developed the reputation as the godfather of China's bond market.

   Mr. Yujun Zhang – Assistant Chairman of China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) and Member of the CSRC Party Committee. Mr. Zhang previously served as the president of Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE) and Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) respectively.

   Professor John A. Quelch - Charles Edward Wilson Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School. Professor Quelch is also a fellow of the Harvard China Fund, a Member of the Harvard China Advisory Board and Associate in Research at the Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies. Professor Quelch was a former Dean of CEIBS, China's leading business school.
